A visit at tropical paradise, The Nosy Be Islands, Madagascar

Nosy Be Island is situated eight kilometers of the north-west coast of Madagascar. Nosy Be means “Big island” in Malagasy. Its tropical climate makes it a leading sea, sun and sand destination. Nosy Be is just one hour flight away from the capital of Madagascar-Antananarivo. Getting down from the plane, you can feel the ylang-ylang, Frngipani tree, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar cane balmy fragrances wash over your sense of smell. As a matter of fact, these plants are cultivated all over the island.
Nosy Be is a tropical island that benefits from an exceptional climate, flora and fauna. The warm waters of Mozambique and the microclimate that determine season make Nosy Be a tourist tropical paradise. The island is known for having the world’s smallest Frog and Chameleon. The Lokobe Reserves is one of Madagascar’s five strict nature reserves. You can travel to this reserve by local pirogue and walk into a tropical forest. There are eleven volcanic lakes on the island. They constitute an enormous water reserve. The banks and water of these lakes are covered with lush vegetation. In the daytime many crocodiles hide under these vegetation.
To make the most of your time on Nosy Be, be sure to visit some of the surrounding islands, such as Nosy Komba with a chance to view and get up-close and personal with the semi-tame Black Lemurs, Nosy Tankly for exceptional snorkeling and scuba diving off the island of Nosy Sakatia. The island also offers moderate hiking.

Nosy Be is home to beautiful beaches such as Ambataloaka, Madirokely, Andilana, Ambondrona and Orangea. Do not forget to visit these lovely beaches and clear, warm, blue water which will entice you to take a refreshing swim. The beaches house several hotels and restaurants at affordable prices. Madirokely beach is the most animated in Nosy Be and every Sunday hosts a beach party in which hundreds of people, locals and visitors, gather to dance away the Sunday afternoon in the sun. All the beaches provide a magnificent view of astounding sunsets.

On Nosy Be, there is a wide choice of excursions to suit all tastes, visit the Ylang Ylang distilleries; visit the highest point on the island Mont Passot Crater lakes; and Cascade waterfall set in a stunning setting. A worthwhile stop would be the Artisans market on the outskirts of Hellville where Malagasy handicrafts can be purchased. There is a supermarket in the capital town of Hellville which offers a wide range of fresh and canned food including a halal meal section.

It is the unlimited splendor of natural beauty and attractions that keep Madagascar a place full of life, fun and tourists from all four corners of the world. For the reason, numerous flights fly to Madagascar from London on daily and weekly basis. Some offer cheap flights to Madagascar while other are aimed at giving a lavish and luxurious business and club class service to make air travel smooth as silk. However, a large number of tourists are more concerned to find cheap flights to Madagascar whether in economy or business.
